take your time and work on your resume. if you need help with your resume, go to a job center or something. we have those here that help people write their resumes so they're successful in getting interviews.

The interviews are the most nerve racking i find. always hated interviews but i always got the job (when i did work) that i wanted. it's all in the way you present yourself and how confident you portray yourself to be. First impressions are so important.

I tested that once. A few years ago, i thought i'd go our and try to find a part time job during the day while the kids were at school so i put out my resume. The job i wanted, i got dressed up for and talked my way into getting it. I had about 5 or 6 interviews to go to so i did have a choice. then, staples called me. i didn't want that job because it was a stocking job. no thanks! so, i went to bingo in the morning with my friend wearing shorts and a top (it was summer) and from there i went to the interview. My hair wasn't as nice as it should be and what i was wearing! OMG! I could've got that job but didn't because of my appearence. i know that's the reason why. i called my friend and told her and she laughed so hard! asked me why i didn't just say no to the interview. i should've just said no to it huh? oh well, LOL!!

when do you graduate DA? it might help to get a proffessor to maybe write you a letter of recomendation. that is impressive to a future employer.

DA, you've just got to make it big time. You have good diploma, you have the knowledge, you aren't a foreigner, you've got experience.

Now all I want to hear if the way you've kicked arse at those interviews!! Be self conscious and even conceited, you wouldn't beleive the people that are out there bluffing about their professional experience, lol!

I soooo know about that one, DA!

It's exactly what I feared. Wanna know something? I'm not someone who believes in destiny, but I do beleive that what's meant to happen shall happen. You shall get that job, it's out there and it's waiting for no one else but yourself. So be patient and very very selective.

when I was first looking for an internship I got no interviews and then all of a sudden everything started to open up... it was sooo hard to chose. So I say, even before applying, you need to have a very clear idea about what you want to do. Which specific field. Which industry.

Damn hard, I was soooo unprepared for this.

Good luck and ... take care of what you're wishing for ;-).

Speaking of which, how is your internship going? I think once i start sending out loads of resumes ill feel better.

I finished version two of my resume, i have one that is traditional format and another that is skills based(something my professor suggested) which should highlight my mix of computer and business skills.

You know, I never thought about fudging facts and stuff during interviews and the like, but hearing it here and hearing my guy at the job connect business tell me he did the same for some other jobs, makes me wonder why I didn't do it earlier.

just dont lie outright, but word things so they sound better, or strech the truth, like my computer company which made maybe a dozen computers, became a computer business with consumer and corporate clients, which is technically true, as i did build a system for an office.

marketing, advertising, something like that. It would be cool to be on the business side of a tech company, or game company. My degree is in advertising/promotion.

You didn't even start to send out resumes and you're alreay cmplaining, lol!!! I say that finding a job it's first of all a war of nerves.

My internship is much better now, after a few months!; they're making me work my butt off, but I'm learning a lot and there are a lot of stuff that I'm still not mastering - like planning the sales or making queries into the data base. But I'm getting there. For the moment I'm following 2 promotional activities - one of which was sooo badly conceived and I'm out there do deal the ****, we're preparing the promotional documents - again, negociating with the suppliers and dealing with a psychotic at the creative agency, and seting up different challenges for the sales force.

I find it difficult to be working with 2 men, though. I've never worked with men before and at first I didn't find it all that comfortable. On the other hand, I've never actuallly worked before and never for such a long period of time. I regret that. The corporate life, ohhh, what a bull, lol!
