DA, Star....... job updates??

So,how are the new jobs going?

Mine won't start now until the 4th of july. I was scheduled to start today but, my van broke down last week leaving me with NO CAR!! i do carpool with a girl but, she went and screwed up something in the interview (said something and left it unclear) so now, they've rescheduled both of us for the 4th of july. I am in the process of trying to find a car so i don't have to depend on anyone for a ride to work. i work out of town (about 1/2 hour away) so i do need a car.

I was disapointed to say the least but, i'm trying to look at the bright side of it. I'm getting a well deserved 3 weeks holiday before i start full time. I've been doing nothing but workshops, training programs and school since february. BTW, I got my customer service certificate (first in the class) and I scored the highest out of my whole class in the interview for the job.

One of the questions they asked me was "where do you see yourself in convergys a year from now?" I told him, "right here". LMAO!! i then told him i didn't mean to imply taking his job, i meant working in the human resources department. oops!! LOL!! shows my ambition i guess. LOL!

in any case, I can't wait to start this job!! i'm going to LOVE it!!

did i mention that the customers i'll be looking after come from the south of the states only? our client is cingular. should be fun!!

work is going pretty well, i think its easy, i just answer the phone and tell them what to do to fix th eproblem and usually send out parts. Im happy to be making money...im trying to plan mym vacation, but im not sure where to go.

sounds like what my job is going to be except i won't be sending out any parts. i'll be answering the phone all day too in the customer service department

i guess it would go by fast yacking on the phone all day LOL!! i can't wait to start my job. i think it'll be fun.

convergys has a big call center here in Jacksonville too. I understand they are very professional and good to work for. It depends mainly on what project you are are on as to how interesting it can get. No matter what....handling customer service is NOT easy or fun! It's hard work!! What will surprise you is how many people work around you who really don't care about that person on the other end of the line. Some are just rude and mean.

ours isn't a cal center, it's a contact center. incoming calls only which is why i took the job. i could never do the outgoing calls. i hate receiving them, i'm not about to bother people on the phones.

i know there are lots of people who don't care about the person on the other end of the line but i do. i have excellent customer service skills and i do empathize with all customers. what these people forget to do is put themselves in the customer's shoes. people like that won't last long with convergys. they are high on excellent customer service and care.

I'll get rude people calling me though and that's okay. i've dealt with plenty of those face to face (especially when i managed a highrise building - tenants can be brutal) so handling someone over the phone is easier for me. less confrentational. i can handle it. i'm not the type to cry at the drop of a hat. LOL!

i've heard nothing but good things about convergys. i haven't heard a negative thing about this company which impressed me big time. i'm going to work my way up. i'd say that within the next couple of years, i'll be in the human resource department. I have the skills and the drive to get there. they do great things for their employees too. you know they will pay up to 2500.00 tuition fees for online courses!! i'll be taking advantage of that! the best thing i like is that there is no signority there. you do a good job and you can get promoted before anyone that's been there longer then you have.

i am soooooooooooo looking forward to starting this job! I can't wait!!!!!

I meant incoming calls.

For every 1-800 number on a product...someone has to be there to answer the phone on the other end. I had a friend who was on the Clariol project and usually it was random questions that people had.
