What do you guys think about employers pulling your credit report???
Personally I don't think it is nobody's friggen business what your credit is like, several people I know got turned down from jobs because of there credit score!!

I agree with you. I can imagine banks, and accountants checking if you have been convicted for fiscal fraud or bankrobbery, but the credit score? WTF?
I can hardly imagine there being a real relationship between credit score and work commitment. You could also ask for a sign: "Cupsize C or above, else you won't be hired" - and with obesity being the problem it is nowadays, this does NOT discriminate against men.
I don't have a credit card, I barely pay things in an electronic fashion (I prefer cash, so I don't have to hop on the computer to find out how much I spent). So I would be screwed.

its unfair that they do, but its getting worse they now use social networking sites to find out your personality.

I totally agree. Unless you have a job where you need to be Bonded...I can see no reason why a person's credit should be part of the decision making factor of whether they can do the job.
When I went to work for British Airways they asked me in the interview if I would sign for a background credit check. I told them to please run one....so they would hire me just because they felt sorry for me financially. HAHA!
Seriously, it should be stopped for the very reason Vautrin just gave.

That is called assessment. And it will be terrible (I am a psychologist to be, so I can say that ) if you are the wrong "type" you simply will not get the job - great! We will now have professional herds everywhere: and of course, we must make the appropriate sounds to celibrate individualism (preferably in choir!).

I was just forced to take one of those tests for an employer, it was long and boring and you just click what you want them to here. the thing I liked about it is that it gave me my weaks and strengths in the work enviorment, and I suppose will tell an employer if the job will be fullfilling for you or not, but at the same sense it is just like a resume everyone fudges it a little.... so they are not to accurate.

I agree Vautrin. It reminds me of communism...where they can decide a child's future at a very young age and end up losing the late bloomers or future inventers. A kid who spends much of his time staring out of the window at the sky... into what others believe to be vacant space....may very well be the one who is interested enough to figure out how to put in a space colony.
Another thing you said was about assessment tests not being totally accurate. I can be asked a number of personal questions and to be honest....I can answer them either way. EX: I can be considered extremely outgoing and social.......I can also be considered to be a loner and withdrawn. I have no way of answering such a question. Both are equally true.
Why don't you find a few assessment questions and start a thread. That would just be such an interesting discussion!

IQ tests are often the same. Especially in the department of pattern recognition. I.e. What number follows:
4, 9, 25, 49, ??
Answer(s) will be given after a few posters have given theirs.

Good....don't give the answer yet. I certainly won't figure it out....but my son who is in the top 5% percentile for his age group refuses to eat dinner until he figures it out.
------------
UPDATE: 121...........based on the square of the prime numbers in order -
(he didn't guess this one....my daughter did)

That would be great Stone. Everybody fill it out. And let Meanon and me humour you.
Signed,

Another question:
3, 5, ??, 9
This one has at least two solutions. Provide at least two. Hint: it helps if you are familiar with the binary system.
E1, D2, C3, B4, A5, ??
Again two logical solutions. Enjoy!
