I think it's so inspiring that you are just not giving up but setting forth, Aaron! You WILL have a job; and as far as I'm concerned, you ARE already a winner!

Re: 3 month Probation
How is the economy in Australia, Aaron? I heard on the News Station that the economy is so poor here, that it is taking workers 3 times as long to find a job. Poor economy = less work available.
I've also known some companies to fire their employees after their Probation is up. It keeps the company's costs down.
So, don't beat yourself up too hard, Aaron. I know how hard it is here to gain employment here, I've seen it up close and personal. The reason for not gaining employment fast and/or getting fired, isn't always because of the 'person.'
Hang in there...

Re: 3 month Probation
Actually, IvyRose, now come to think of it, I've heard the same thing that workers are let go after the Probation period...sad to treat people that way! Don't they realize how that can hurt a person's self-esteem thinking they were the cause and not good enough for the job? Don't people count anymore?

Re: 3 month Probation
Not to big business. All they care about is the bottom line and making money.

How can they then expect people to do the best they can for them, if it's just the bottom line and making money? How can a person even like going to work when we spend most of our time at work? No wonder there is so much depression and unhappiness at work!

I've heard it said that looking for a job is a job in itself! With all your enthusiasm and hard work in this, Aaron, any employer would be fortunate to get you!
I can't say it enough; you are indeed an inspiration!

Re: 3 month Probation
well an update on it all ..........
got a 3rd & final Interview for this new job tomorrow 3pm aest. Its for 13cabs. you know, when you call up for a cab and say where you need to be picked up & driven to ? well the people you tell that to, that will hopefully be me well 1 of them come Monday.
Also found out today in the 2nd interview that 8 hour shifts and they get paid for all breaks & work clothes comes free. So all is going great. Had interview with Shift organiser today, told her I can work anytime, 5 days is 5 days and you still get 2 days off anyway. Tomorrows interview is with the head office manager. So the 2 interviews so far have gone perfectly, can't see anything going wrong to stuff up my chances.
Will keep you all up to day and will know for sure by 5pm Friday wether I have the job or not.

Re: 3 month Probation
Good news people .... Went in for the 3rd & final interview & 15 minutes later after a good friendly chat, I was given the job ! Start either Monday Week or Monday fortnight ....
I feel very pleased with myself, now knowing that, I can relax for the next week and a bit atleast knowing I have a job to go to

Congratulations, Aaron, but I have to tell you I'm not surprised that you were scooped up by an Employer! Smart person, the one that hired you!
