It looks like our two newest members are bots from a spam site, that's what Duke and I discovered with a little investigation. It's possible that there is going to be a spam attempt in the near future, at which time all spammers and bots will be promptly banned, so I'm hoping if anyone gets the idea in their head to try this, that they'll realize it's pretty pointless.

So nice of these idiots to not only pad our membership number, but to leave their IP addresses behind for easy banning
The best part is, the new CMS won't allow this to happen at all and will hand out instant bans to any bots who try.
I just hope I'm wrong about these two and if I am, you both have my sincerest of apologies! I get wound up when I have to spend a few weekends cleaning up a db due to abuse and then removing privileges due to the abuse that affects our guests and members.

btw, not sure if there is another thread about it but I'm glad to see you put the banner in your sig, looks good! Can you use that on UKWW and other places too or would you?

I can't really use it because I was stupid when creating it and the filesize is huge because of it. I'll likely use it at all network sites and others that enable flash sigs but many sites don't like you having a flash sig., especially one that pimps your stuff.
I hope I made a copy of this raw .fla file, then I can edit and update it, if not I have to start from scratch and this banner took close to 10 hours to make :?

Well if it gets to be a problem, wasn't there a mod or an option where you can make someone's sig only show once in a forum thread? If we have to do that in the future (since both of us like our sig banners), it may help with page loading times.

There is a mod to do that but I'd rather not use it if we don't have to. I think once bandwidth becomes a problem we may have to but for now, I'd much rather tax our webhost just to make sure their doing their job

I've been having issues here all night long. I'm pretty sure it's not the banner, its the crappy webhost.
That'll change soon enough and I have the credit card statement to prove it ;-)

I've tried to hit on all the relavent keywords with this signature but I'm not sure I acheived the final affect I was looking for. I'll have to create a new one to replace it if for no other reason than the Lifesupporters.com Logo has changed as of the Jan 1, 2006.
