Thanks for the Welcome
My name is Melissa everyone calls me "Melly" for short....I grew up in a pretty normal environment, with two loving parents, that I lost in the fall of 2000 and then my father in early 2001. It has really opened my eyes up to the whole big world.
I am thirty years of age and a true virgoâ¦I am a full time parent to a 9 year old girl, who is my bottom line and I have never been married.
I have always had different passions in my life and have set many goalsâ¦Although, I was a non traditional student in college I gained my degree in Forensic Rehab, completed my internship, worked with a great company making good money and decided I need a change something was missing in my life.
My daughter and I took off for a new state, hoping to make new connections with family I hadnât seen in years or not at all. After loosing my parents I threw myself into so many projects, I didnât leave time for dealing with the reality and like a bolder one day, my parental instinct came in keen and I missed the connection of emotional intelligence that family members can provide and for my daughter.
It took some time to adjust to our new environment for my daughter and I. We loved the weather of the Gulf of Florida and the many things to do, verse the country life of rural Indiana. Although, the best part of a rural community is the bonds you form with others that you live around. I love the other parents I have met and the warm welcome.
I wasnât making much money here in rural Indiana, like I had in Florida and it was becoming a real struggle, plus I couldnât stand my job and watched others around me put up with the most daunting crap from higher upsâ¦.degradingâ¦to say the least.
In my spare time, I started working on some projects to take me away from the office
of 9 to 5 gig and started working toward a better sense of meâ¦.and my dreams that I had started on back in collegeâ¦.I wanted to have a web based business and bought up 6 domains to launch my new venture. While doing so, another brilliant idea came about and thatâs how I came up with the military communications.
After that, I walked in on a deal I couldnât believe and started my own flooring installation business that has now led me into sales and now I am in the process of opening a home center. We are the most consumer focused company out there and thatâs what sets it apart and it has let me run wild with my passions and ideas.
As for the military site, I hope that it creates enough stir that all military will be able to have a place were they can talk in private to their family members and friends for the validation of their most important relationships. We are living in a really hard world and I donât think people realize enough what our service members do, how their families suffer, or even who these people are.
This gives us a chance to put a face or to see families real day struggles and joysâ¦Just as I see in this forumâ¦
Thanks for the welcomeâ¦
Regards,
Melly

Just so you know Melly, we are currently experiencing some server issues that are creating issues in the forums. I wouldn't worry too much about the double posts because they are an indication of where the problems lie.
BTW, thanks for the heads up and also for the great into.
Ken

Forgive...
She is indeed....
Forgive the intruce she was a boy, but my daughter also looked like a boy and after time and time again me telling everyone she was a girl at that age, I gave up...because it really didn't matter...easy mistake...
But she still is a heart breaker...

I had that same problem with my two girls when they were that age. even though they were wearing girl clothes and had their ears pierced, people would say what a cute little boy. they didn't have much hair at that age either. LOL!
in any case, i wasn't offended at all so no harm done.

I didn't see the link to your site but I agree with you it is a great idea. I've worked for the miltiary and have been involved a long time with their various issues. I really look forward to you posting and being able to get to know you!!
Sorry you had to leave Florida. I think we have 3 other members, besides myself, who live in different areas of Florida. Look on the bright side....you'll avoid all the hurricanes this year.
