Newbie here
Hi,
My name is Jessica and I'm 25 yrs old. Currently still live with my parents and my fraternal twin sister as well, in Ridgewood, NJ USA. Born with Neurologically based speech impairment/apraxia-dysarthria. Minor learning disability. Been suffering from depression/anxiety since 9/2001. Currently I'm an clerical volunteer in Maternity Department at the local hospital by me and also been a seasonal temp at one of the local Lord and Taylor by me as well. Still hoping for an permanent part time clerical position.
Hope this community is what I been looking for almost a yr now since then I been looking at or trying others and etc.
Thank you.

Re: Newbie here
Welcome to this wonderful site Jessica. There are a lot of wonderful people here. We all have a great ear for listening and we do our best to help and encourage each other. You sound like a very busy young lady. I am happy to be the first to welcome you here and hope we are what you are looking for as well. Duke, the web master here, is wonderful as are all the members. We have all had our problems and I for one have found this to be my refuge and a place to share my feelings and get the help I need in the way of someone caring enough to listen. Sometimes that is all we need. I hope you enjoy posting with us. We certainly look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Newbie here
Welcome Jessica, very great to see you jump in posting
I'm very sorry to hear you've been suffering from depression because that can certainly be one hell of a monkey on one's back. I too suffered from depression for a while due to seeing less and less of my child and it has been an emotional burden of proportions I'd never experienced before or since. What has helped me and continues to help is having people I can confide in without fear of being judged which is exactly what you'll find here.
I think you'll find we have one of the warmest, most sincere and close-knit communities you'll find on the net. This is a great place to come regardless of reason as it has strayed from online forum and become more of an online family.
We may not all be perfect nor will we have all the answers but what we may lack in insight we more than make up for in compassion and understanding.
Right now we're in a bit of a transitional period as we're trying to add focus to some of the forums without allowing the content to affect the mood of the site. We want Lifesupporters to be informative and a good place to express yourself but it helps no one if there's a big, black, cloud looming over the site. If you're feeling low, the last thing you want is to come to a community that only serves to make you lower, right?
Anyway, please take a look around and feel free to post any comments or concerns you may have. It doesn't matter if you've been a member here for 3 minutes or 3 years, your comments are all equally important.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your time with us!
Ken

Re: Newbie here
Hi Jessica!
My daughter (age 26) just moved from Ridgewood to Jersey City. She and her BF wanted the better jobs that Manhattan can offer and did not want to commute that far. The job she quit was at the Lawn Doctor headquarters in Holmdel. She was full-time though. I just thought I would let you know--they might need someone
