Default Why is it easier to open up online?

to open up to people on-line than it is in real life? When you think about it isn't the World watching?

Because the person on the other side is not real. If you decide not to talk anymore, you will not be confronted with your weaknesses, pains etc. In real life, things don't work like that.

Plus actually seeing the person makes it harder. You can't hide your real feelings as well in person.

Edited the title to make in more relevant.

I think it's easier to be open online for two reasons:
  1. Online family is not the same as immediate family or immediate friends. You don't have to worry about posturing nor do you have to worry about being judged as online friends are remote.
  2. When you don't tell the truth online, you're only lying to yourself.
