Another sad story of a someone preying on a child and pretending their pet was missing...

How can a parent teach a child not to fall for a story like that or even just to run away from strangers?

I pray they find her alive....

The fact is, kids alone are easy prey to sickos. The younger the child, the more trusting of adults they prolly are unless their parents intervene and make their children aware that some parents are bad and none should be trusted fully.

What's even sadder is the high amount of crimes perpetrated by a person who knows his/her victim. As a parent, how can you ever truly prepare your child for this?

I don't know if you can. You would have to make them terrified of everyone and that wouldn't be good either. I am so glad mine are adults now. Of course, now I have to worry about grandkids someday. Why do a few bad apples have to ruin it for the rest of us.

It sure was a different world when our kids were small...never even thought that they would be abducted..let them play anywhere free and clear...it's so sad that this is happening so much now that one can't even let a child out of their sight in their own yard....
