Re: Can friends be lovers?
That friend may be that special someone. Hard to give a generalized answer to this question.

Agreed, you can never tell who may be your one true love so limiting it on the grounds of friendship may not be a wise choice.

Under the right circumstances and depending on the personalities of the people involved, yes.

I've been there before and it doesn't work. Eventually one of the two people involved will get hurt.

i disagree if you mean that happens just ebcause you may have been friends. Getting hurt and the relationship not working can be due to any reason whatsoever. I think you may stand more of a chance if your friends with someone.
After all, isnt your partner suppose to be your best friend too?

Re: Can friends be lovers?
Being freinds with someone and taking it to the next level and having a relationship (I think my longest relationship ever was with someone who was a good freind) is one thing but have you ever heard the term f**k buddies? (sorry for the language!!) Two freinds who have sex together because its convienient?
I guess it depends why your having sex with your freind, is it conveinience or because you want to be more than just freinds. If your wanting to be more than freinds then thats one thing but convienient sex is another, and that leads to one person getting hurt. In the last 10 years I've seen it happen to a number of freinds of mine.

Re: Can friends be lovers?
I've never had sex with a friend but then again, I've never had a friend I wanted to have sex with. I think the only pitfall of sleeping with a friend is that you stand to lose more should the relationship fail. There's no guarantees that friends first, lovers later, will produce a stronger relationship than two strangers falling in love.
Either way, you roll the dice IMHO.
