Workout
Well I finally splurged and picked myself up a sk00kum Weider workout bench. I've been watching my spare tire grow from a doughnut and now its getting to the point where theres pockets of Japanese Soldiers trapped in my belly button that don't know the wars over.
The workout bench isn't anything fancy but it does have a dip attachment as well as variable incline adjustments and curl adjustments. There's even an attachment for doing preacher curls which is awesome because it hammers the crap outta your biceps.
The best part is that it's free weights and has nothing to do with cables or Nautilus so you not only lift the weight but you have to practice form to keep it stable. I know this isn't as targeted a workout but I think it makes for a much better all around workout as some muscles are under strain that are usually ignored in Nautilus.

Re: Workout
Good luck with your new workout system Duke. When you get really buff you need to post a picture.

Re: Workout
Are you going to look like one of those guys in one of those magazines soon? I may have to plan a trip to Canada.

Re: Workout
No, I'll never have a washboard stomach as it's something that isn't a genetic trait in either side of my family. I have a strong stomach which is prolly the reason I never have had back issues but regardless of how thin/fit I get, my abs never look like a washboard.
My problem is keeping up with my legs because they are enormous. I'll likely get back into mountain biking and squash for cardio and to tone my legs but theres no way I'm going to try to add muscle down there, theres already enough. I'll likely hammer my chest, arms, lats, stomach and back with quick failure sets to keep my heartbeat up and make the workout somewhat more aerobic.

Re: Workout
So how is the workout going? Actually your post got me back to my weight issues, and that I have to get back to exercising again. I have exercised three times this week and hope to make it four tomorrow rounding out the week. Can we use this topic to challenge ourselves and each other to better health and fitness and sort of kindly ream each other out when we choose to do something other than having an exercise session? Maybe get everyone who isn't fit to get on the bandwagon?

Re: Workout
I haven't actually started yet because I still have to finish putting the bench together (no time due to overtime at work) and pick up some weights this weekend.
If all goes as planned, I can start working out next week.

Re: Workout
Nice duke, I am looking into getting some weights too. Got lots of spare room in my new basement so it would be perfect. I want to be the size I was when I played football back in highschool. 210 and ripped! Now....it's just 210 hahaha. I've been blessed with an awesome frame and good genetics so it's easy for me to bulk up.

Maybe when you're up and running we can start a routine and keep tabs on each other via the forums here.
