personally i HATE repeating my self and it even annoys me when other people repeat them selves. if i answered the question the first time it was asked then i'd get mad, probably yell for them to shut up but if it was a question i just didnt want to answer.. i'd probably end up telling them the answer anyways. just because it would annoy me too much.

my hate for the repeating ness is one of the main reasons i could never be a teacher. ugh

I test this daily, as I have trouble hearing sometimes. To many years of the heavy metal turned up a little to loud.

There can be different reasons people ask the same question over and over again..

- They didnt like the answer they were given and cant live with it.. They ask again in hopes you have changed your mind..

- They didnt understand the answer you gave them. Perhaps be a bit more blunt in your answer.

- They understand the answer you gave them but they ask again later in hopes you have changed your mind due to recent happenings.

I've been guilty of the second reason with my wife recently. Marriage problems have given me many questions which she has not been able to answer. So I find myself asking the same questions over and over again, hopeing to get answers. I guess this is bad, cause she is more than likely angered by my asking.

I would repeat myself only once, and then either keep quiet or make a light-hearted joke reply. The joke would help to remove a bit of tension, and as an added bonus people listen more.

I'll most probably answer a couple of times , and then I'll say "the last time you asked me this, two hours ago, I gave your this answer. Nothing changed since then".
