overcoming fear
Tonight i want to go out, but im afraid, i have never really gone out by myself and it feels weird. If i put it off ill never be able to do it so i have to. The weird thing is, i dont have fears that others have, i was stuck in an elevator once and it didnt bother me and i was able to calm the other girl down. So this should be simple, im just going to a place where there is fun.

I'm with you da, I don't like going to bars on my own unless I know there's someone there that I can hang out with. Is there no one around that you can call and go with?

If you find a nice cozy bar with a pool table and a decent amount of women present, it never hurts to go in every few days and have a pop and a game of pool or two. Eventually you become known around there and there's a lot of perks to that situation.

The only reason your horrible at pool is because you don't play enough. My cousin and I used to play for cash and were very successful but we cheated a bit. We'd go and play snooker on the huge tables for hours then go to the bar and flop our cash down on the end of the table. After playing a few hours on a snooker table, your pretty much unbeatable on a bar table.

I don't go to bars (and never have) by myself either. If I walked into a bar alone, it was because I was meeting a friend there or something.
Aren't there any small taverns around your place where you can walk in by yourself and not feel out of place? We have a few of those here. i worked at one and there were plenty of young guys who would come in alone, shoot some pool, play some cards with the other regulars. I'd even play cards or pool with them if it were a slow night!

I go bymyself all the time BUT I live in a small town so chances are I will run in to somebody I know...
Next time you go sit at the bar alone and chat with the person next to you male or female and buy them a drink

I don't have a problem in the world walking into any kind of bar by myself. SH is right....you don't necessarily have to strike up a conversation with someone of the opposite sex. You can make new friends of any gender....just goofing around and talking. I'm real social when I drink though....unlike the rest of the time when I'm much less so.

For me that's the only point of going to a bar, either to hang out with my buds or to meet a new chick.

Try nightclubs for meeting women, you stand a better chance of success there than at a regular bar IMO.
