Default Numb Left Hand

I'm sure we've all woken up at one time or another in the morning where you slept the wrong way and some part of you was numb or slow to respond or still sleeping. This actually happened to me this morning where I couldn't feel the last three fingers in my left hand and the numbness goes all the way up to my palm. The weird thing is that it's gotten a bit better over the day but not much. My thumb, index finger and middle finger seem OK but the other two are still numb and without much feeling.

Have any of you ever experienced this type of sensation for the better part of a day? I wonder if it's a pinched nerve or something?

Has someone been spending too much personal time in the shower?

Actually, you could've slept on it wrong but usually the blood circulation returns a little faster than what you've described. If that happens in the future, keep you a frozen bag of corn from the grocery store in your freezer. Hold your hand under warm water for 3-5 minutes...then put the frozen back of corn on your hand for 3-5 mintues. That should shock your system back into circulation. (Yes, you can use ice or one of those cold packs....but the medium size corn bags go over your hand nice.) I used to have problems with one foot doing that....and a Navy medic told me about the corn thing (that's what they do on ships) and it solved the problem.

IF it persists though....see a doctor. This can also be related to the onset of diabetes.

Am again typing this before work so didn't have time to read everything about it! Hope it's gone by now, and you are as good as new!

It's feeling better today but I'm not sure if I have 100% feeling of the fingers, I don't think I do. Regardless, it is better than it was when I first created this post because I could barely feel the keys when I was typing.

I wasn't, in actual fact I don't think it was anywhere but on my chest/stomach as I slept. I'm pretty sure I slept on my back the entire night so I'm still unsure how this could have happened.

It's not bad enough to trouble a doctor with. It seems much better now because I'm able to type.

I played golf Saturday and had a tough time with my swing, went to a LAN Gaming Party Saturday evening and maybe slept wrong Saturday so I'm thinking I just pinched a nerve or something.
