For any one that ever suffers from a kidney stone, I would like to say.
Nothing really helps, and your best bet is to talk to a doctor should you develop any of the symptoms.
Pain and/or extreme pressure in the general kidney (lower back) and bladder area.
Highly increased urge to urinate.
Over-all tired feeling.
(not to mention I was a complete bear and my irritability factor was at an all time high)
Those are the only 3 symptoms that I incurred. The increased urge to urinate started almost a week and a half before I passed the stone. I thought I had a Urinary tract infection (UTI). The tests for that were completely negative though.
To alleviate symptoms the doc might prescribe some strong pain medication. This did not help me at all. Drinking a TON of water helps pass the stone quicker though. And while urinating, bearing down seems to help with the pain and pressure at least a little.
