Are life jackets not "cool" to wear or what?
Another drowning death in one of our most popular rivers on the long weekend, no life jacket again!
I have a yellow life jacket that out on the lake fishing with my husband, I've been told I look like a banana. I won't get into a boat if my husband doesn't have his life jacket on.

My kids aren't allowed on any boat without wearing a life jacket. that includes a canoe. I or my husband on the other hand, we don't wear it. we sit on our lifejackets. That way at least we have one we can grab onto if anything should happen.

same goes for con... oh nm.
A life jacket is a definet must when doing any water activities, st00pidness goes hand in hand with not wearing one.

We were them if we're waterskiing or tubing. Most boaters that i see don't wear their jackets, they sit on them.

You know you don't have to wear life jackets on boats in arizona? I didn't see one single person wear one at any of the lakes (heavily patrolled too). You have to wear them on the sea doos though or any other toy.

I'm too chicken sh1te to not wear a lifejacket, I'm a panic swimmer so I tend to get tired faster than most. I wish I could float but my legs virtually assure that I'll sink to the bottom just like the Titanic did.

Of all people, I think I would be scared of water. My dad taught me how to swim by throwing me in a pool when I was about 4 in Arizona. Not so, I love the water mmm, beaches.

Stone and I both live on beaches in FLorida.....but on different sides.
I also think a person being confortable in the water depends on how well they can swim or if they grew up around water. My kids could both swim around the age of 3. They spend all summers either at the beach or the pool...so if they were in a boat on a lake which was sinking....they wouldn't freak out.
If it wasn't for sharks....I could stay in the ocean a long time and not be worried about it.

I was talking about if I was on a big boat and it sank way out in the ocean. As far as local beaches....I really don't worry about it. Consider this...we have millions of people in the water for hundreds of coastal miles. Two people get bit or killed out of all that....and the world panics. It CAN happen....but chances are....it won't. You have a better chance getting smacked by a truck in an intersection.
The kids around here hang out and even go into the beach water at night. My daughter got her foot cut on a crab shell last night night though.....haha!

I have been hit in an intersection, while I was WALKING. I have bad luck when it comes to hurting myself. Sharks would sniff me out and eat me.
