Human cells grow in mice brains

WASHINGTON, D.C. Human stem cells injected into the brains of fetal mice have developed into functional adult brain cells, a breakthrough that could shed light on neurological diseases, suggest U.S. and Japanese researchers.
These findings may help scientists understand the development of the human brain and treat disorders such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, written by researchers in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
The results could help also improve screening efforts of therapeutic drugs.
It was the first time human stem cells have developed successfully in the body of another living species.
In this case, human stem cells injected inot mice brains evolved within two months and had migrated throughout the brain.

that's great news!! my grandmother had parkinson's. what a heartbreaking desease. she had no clue who we were anymore and she coulnd't move at all. it was the saddest thing. Since it's in my family genes, i do worry about myself. To find a cure for these deseases would be wonderful!!!!

Fortunately mother nature has countered and is starting to take away my hearing in one ear (or so it seems). All I have to do is keep you on one side of me and I'll have a blissfully silent holiday

I'll just secretly ask Dwoing which is your good ear, and ask to use that Computer! If that doesn't work, I'll just yell louder...you'll just have to take the lesser of two evils..
