Default How do you react to stress?

I close up in my house and overanalyse everything. I cannot go out, I turn into a snail and I don't speak to no one or go out for days...

Ho do you deal with it?

Poorly, I snap at virtually everyone, sweat like a pig, and get little to no sleep at all. I've done well to reduce stress in my life and suffer from little to no stress at all anymore.

I write, I read, I cry.

I think too much and can't sleep. I do tell myself that whatever it is that's causing me the stress could be worse and that helps me destress. I'll preocupy myself with something else to try and keep my mind off of whatever it is that's causing me to stress.

I deal very well with it at the time and have a reputation for being calm under pressure but a few days after the crisis has passed, the effects catch up with me. I have to talk to close friends if I'm stressed, articulating my feelings helps me clarify what they are and enables me to do something about them.

I sometimes wish I was the type who was able to resolve things internally but these things are fairly basic and people tend to split into one type or the other - those that need quiet reflection and those that define themselves in relation to others.

I'm more likely to snap at people, and the skin on the inside of some of my fingers gets eczema like. It goes away a little while after the stress is gone.

Actually that's a good point dogula, my face gets some red blotchiness if I'm really stressed out but disappears when I'm allright.

Your response touched me deeply!

When the stress became too much, I changed jobs; a very difficult decision for me because I had so much history where I was!
I promised myself when I started my new job that I wouldn't get involved in gossip & politics, and over three years later I'm keeping that promise, only when pettiness comes into play, I get

Luba, as you may have read in the posts I have made, I spend most of my time reading and writing.

In a way writing allows me to express my stress and thoughts on people and situations. Situations which are somewhat tragic in one way or the other, which leaves a person or a group of persons in very miserable situations.
There is a great deal of strive and drama in life - which I want to understand, and express so that I won't suffer in similar ways. Or suffer as much because of the situations I find myself in, due to my increased awareness.

I suffered my fair share of heartbreaks, but I have recovered very quickly form it, due to this.

I agree with you, that it is wise to stay clear from the office gossip and politics. If there is nothing negative to report, nothing will go wrong - but that is not the case, and soon distrust will build. And suddenly you will find yourself amidst strife.
