How do you handle anger?
Do you blow up and get over it right away? Do you seethe for awhile and then blow up? Do you bottle it up and explode way later for some insignificant thing? How do you deal with it?
I seethe, I calm up for days, then I either just get over it or blow up. Of course, I don't really get over it if I don't let it out but I don't say anything that particular time. Not a good way to deal with things but that is me.

Bottle it up. I have a very big bottle though and it takes a good 3 - 4 years of pissing me off before I lose it. I've snapped 4 times in my life so far and each time has landed someone a severe beating - i'm just glad they deserved it.

Re: How do you handle anger?
Depends where I am when I get angry. If its whilst driving then usually another driver got me angry, so I just drive up to them to the side and put the window down and pass off a nice foul gesture
if I am angry at my girlfriend I give her 'the look' but we make up in no time ha ! If i am just having a bad day I just head to bed if I am at home and rest & zzzzzzzzzzz

Re: How do you handle anger?
I used to take it and take it and then the least little thing would happen, and I would explode and it wasn't pretty!
Now I try to look at something I'm grateful for immediately, think also "it's all small stuff" and it totally helps! I've also turned my thoughts around...if someone has hurt me intentionally or unintentionally, I don't anymore think of them as mean, wicked, and cruel but hurting inside themselves! That is helping SO much, too!

Re: How do you handle anger?
I handle it very well and learned how to control it.I usually listen to comforting music or spend time with my dog Zoe throwing her tennis ball and she catches it.I did have very high stress levels and my doctor was very concerned about. He told me that it can raise blood pressure and that is bad.At work,I do have a stress relieving ball I squeeze in the top of my toolbox

Re: How do you handle anger?
submissively. i turn on myself and find my faults and tear myself to pieces with them. then i apologize to everyone and anyone for being who i am, and then i sit and cry about my self hatred for hours on end.
i never take it out on anyone or explode. just torture myself for feeling angry

Re: How do you handle anger?
Well it takes alot to get my angry. I don't bottle it up I pretty much let it go cuz its not worth my time.
But when something does upset me I just let it go pretty much right then and there.

Re: How do you handle anger?
I very rarely get angry, but when I do I fume for about 2 days. I also find it very difficult when people I care about get angry, whereas I'm fine with dealing with angry people at work etc. From what I've seen, people who turn it inwards do so as they were criticised in childhood, when they couldn't get angry with their caregiver. So self criticism establishes itself as a coping mechanism and then sticks.

I do that, really bad. I rarely let my anger out and if I do, I feel guilty about it later.
