Heart Attack and your morning Cup a' Joe
From the news page,
For many of us, the day doesn't start without our morning coffee. In today’s drive thru society, we're drinking more coffee than ever and it may not be just keeping you awake, it may be leading you toward the "big sleep".
A study published today in The Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers state that people with a genetic variation linked to slow caffeine metabolism may be at increased risk of suffering a non-fatal heart attack. Risk increases based on individual age and coffee in take.
Now I'm no doctor but non-fatal heart attack can't exactly be a good thing for your health either. The moral of the story is if you can cut down on the caffeine in take, maybe it's a good idea to do so. Just don't tell Tim Horton’s or Starbucks I told you so, I don't feel like getting sued.

Two to four. Rarely more than four or less than two. I would really like to be able to quit coffee for awhile because I know if I did, one cup would give me the jolt I need in the morning.

I don't drink coffee except for the occassional Starbucks Mocha Frappachino. My poison is Diet Coke. I drink tons of it a day at work. I know I should choose water more often but I guess I am addicted. I imagine the caffine in Coke is just as bad. :?

I drink two on the average, one if my day is really hectic. I don't drink coffee on the weekend.
But I could never ever give it up. I have tried in the past and failed. I could switch on decaffed, though, but I'm rather tired these days .
I hardly ever drink Coke, that is a good thing.

2 BIG cups before work (6 cups on the coffee pot) and 1 or 2 when i get home. Weekends are about 5 or 6 a day. Love coffee with the french vanilla flavouring.

Iced French Vanilla is my biggest vice lol I don't drink soda I gave that up 2 years ago but I don't think I could give up my coffee. I take a walk at night after dinner to go get a coffee. Somehow making coffee at home doesn't taste the same as Dunkin Donuts. As I'm typing this I'm sipping one. I wonder if they will come out with a coffee patch like the nicotine patch lol

Cut down? There have been days I have drank more than half a gallon of coffee. Now I cut down to 4-6 big cups of coffee, still more than a quarter of a gallon.

I'm sure glad that Weiser and Vautrin posted. I was feeling bad about my 2-4, till I read how much they drink. 8O Finally, something that I'm not the worst one at.

Adonai, probably you have a good condition, and would probably beat us in endurance contests.
And you know how to ride a bike and not get killed at the same time. Two skills I lack , but I am smart enough not to attempt to ride a bike.

I have NO IDEA how much coffee I drink a day. I'm not supposed to be drinking any, but really only the fried foods get to me, not the coffee. I drink coffee from the time I wake up until I go to bed. Sometimes I'll get to feeling kinda edgy....then I'll eat something or drink some water. I even drink coffee while I drink beer.
I DID buy some non-caffiene flavored stuff for later in the evening. I drink that sometimes.

I've started drinking coffee daily since I was sick. Of course, I would never consider having more than one or two per day and I only have two if I've had no sleep the night before.
