Default Healing power of music

Do you think music can heal some things? I always feel better when I listen to music. I found these 11 tips and a few other sites on the subject.

1. Select Appropriate Music
2. Consider Music Sequencing
3. Speakers Are Ideal
4. Prepare Yourself To Listen
5. Listen All The Way Through
6. Foreground, Not Background
7. Your Response Is What Is Important
8. Listen Actively, Not Passively
9. Observe Mind/Body Connection
10. Enjoy The Silence
11. Use A Journal

I'm not so sure if music helps me heal much either mentally of physically but it does help to pick me up if I'm low on energy.

It is also music dependent. Hardrock may not be as efficient as a soft little classical piece to relax.

Music can heal a broken or weary spirit.

the only thing that gets me through my day at work (now that we have this new person in our area that makes me want to stab myself in the eyes and ears repeatedly) is being able to listen to my trance music. Raver at heart and it is this type of music that keeps me sane, gives me energy and puts me in a better mood no matter what. Does that count as healing?

If it makes you feel better or changes your mood for the better than I vote yes, it is a form of healing!!!

Yes. Sometimes the use of extreme violence can be healing as well - I know of a few people who prefer banging their heads against the wall, as sort of a purging experience. Can't really say I recommend it though.

might give you a nasty headache tho!

anyway music is healing im sure it is, i listen to music constantly, the moment i wake up i start winamp, and play music untill i leave the house for work, and then i have my ipod on and then in work i put the radio on and play it over the speakers, i surround myself by music because it can help take your mind off things.

the only time i dont have music on is when im sleeping and when im talking to my friends over the mics, because the best healing thing in the world, sound wise, is that of a friends voice.

I find soft, classical music on a Saturday afternoon as background to reading or just resting in peace energizes me...

I cannot be to certain about actual healing qualities.

but i when i listen to music (which is quite often) i always pick something based on my mood. regardless of the situation i do feel better after listening for a while. which is, in its own way, a bit of healing i spose
