H2O, how important is it....
I guess this was article written for women world a while ago. I would tend to believe this, given the fact that without water our cellular reproduction of DNA could not happen without it, and being dehydrated hampers our cellular growth. Think of water as sort of the transportation mechanism in the body, the more we have the better everything in our bodies work. It's very important to break down chemical poisons in our body and expell them, and water is key to chemical movement in the body. Even though these conclusions have yet to be proven scientifically i certainly don't think this is study or the belief about water as a miracle drug is unsubstantiated. Water appears to be this sort of miracle drug, the more we drink the healther we are over the long run. Just look at the 79% drop in breast cancer, i think those types of numbers are pretty convincing.
I remember Catholics reporting miracle cures to things such as diabeties to blindness after drinking water from a spring. I think the spring is located somewhere in Italy or Spain, the springs discovery is attributed to a little girl and two of her friends said she they had seen and talked to the Virgin Mary near the spring back in the thirties. I can't remember the name of the spring though.... After a study of that water was done they found that the atomic structure of that H2O had not been changed by atomic radioactive bombardment, thus the angle of the electrons were at a different angle from the protons and neutrons than water found at the surface of the earth, which are exposed to these cosmic rays all the time. They found that the ability of this water to hydrate people and affect the proper movement of chemicals was far better than average water. They have been trying to manufacture water like what was found in laboratories ever since. It's called Propel, maybe you've heard of it. The discover of this is a Dr. from Stanford U.
This is not the exact study i cited, i can't seem to find it on the net anymore, but it a similar study.

We all know that water is important, but I've never seen it written
down like this before.
a. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to
half world pop.)
b. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is
often mistaken for hunger.
c. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much
as 3%.
d. One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost
100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.
e. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
f. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day
could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
g. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory,
trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or
on a printed page.
h. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of breast
cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer

Re: H2O, how important is it....
i don't drink nearly enough water. the most water i drink is when i'm out of the house working or taking a course. at home, i hardly drink it. don't know why. i know it's the heathiest for you and it's the only thing that will keep you hydrated yet i'd rather drink pop or juice instead when i'm at home.
very good article.

I'm sorry Duke ...as a news article? I not quite sure what you are asking me? Feel free to pm me to explain it better, i'm sure what ever your asking is prolly ok. However, i'm not quite sure where to find the old article anymore, i've had this information forever i just thought i would post it for some reason today.
Pop and stuff is ok it's still got water, but it also has tons of other garbage in it and it's really not good for you. Nothing can beat water as far as hydration is concerned. I drink alot of tea, i know it's not as pure as water but it's not quite as bad as pop. However, it's green tea and from what i've heard green tea isn't all that bad for you. Although, i really should drink more water myself. Personally, one reason why i think this nation is so fat, and i have no proof of this other than what i have learned about water in school, there are no studies to cite that i know of ....yet, is because the food we eat needs to be broken down with water, instead we drink so much soda and other garbage that the food we eat, mainly processed foods like white bread, isn't broken down enough to adequately expel the poisons from our bodies. And white bread is extremely bad for you.
In fact i can guarentee eating processed fats is the main reason why Americans are so fat, and then look at the portions we eat today. OMG we supersize everything!! That's why protein rich diets work so well, there are no major fat producing products in protein and after time, without introducing any new fats into our body, our body has is given enough time properly break down and metabolize the unused energy that our body stores as fat. White bread, tortillas, potatos ...which produce starch which then turns into fat, are the main fat producing products we eat today. An dthe only thing we can do to get rid of these fats is to cut back our intake, work out, and drink alot of water, as far as i know only water can safely break down these fats and expell them from the body. and all three are important ...at least if you want loose weight.
I know this is disgusting, but when John Wayne died they said they removed five pounds of undigested foods which had been built up in his colon over the years. Of course he died of lung cancer, but i feel very strongly the build up of poisons in the human body over time can, if not flushed out of the body, lead to diseases like diabeties, cancer etc... So it's very, very important to drink lots of water to maintain good health. I know everytime i go to the Dr. office they tell me i'm dehydrated, and when i finally get hydrated i feel like i gotta pee like a racehorse. I wonder how to tell when you're hydrated enough? Too much water can kill you too , through osmosis in brain cells, so you have to be careful not to drink too much as well. That's why people who take extasy die all the time, they drink too much water believing they are thirsty and eventually burst the brain cells in their heads.

Re:
while my daughter was in the hospital, i asked the night time nurse how much water we should drink and how do we know if we're dehydrated? she said that i should be drinking at least 4 to 5 personal bottles of water a day. the more water, the better it is for the system she said. she said that everything works better and if you don't take in enough water, your organs in your body are working too hard. not a good thing.
she said that when your pee is dark yellow, you are dehydrated. a hydrated person's pee will be a pale yellow. she told me that's how we can tell if we're hydrated or not.
Starting tomorrow, i will make it a promise to myself to drink the water i need daily. i'll test this and see if my metabolism will speed up by drinking lots of water. i feel tired everyday too. maybe i need more water.

Ahh thanks Star, i'm going to start drink water much more myself. Now that i know how to stay hydrated.
Let me know how it works for you? I'm interested if it makes you feel that much better than normal, as i always feel tired. It was even affecting my grades last year, i couldn't stay awake long enough to study what i needed to study :?

Re:
another thing the nurse told me was that for every drink that you intake that has caffeine in it (coffee, tea, dark pops) you need to drink an extra bottle of water to make it up because the caffeine eats the water from the body or something like that.
I just drank my last 7-up. i stopped drinking coke a couple years ago because it was starting to make me feel ill. I can't stomach it anymore i drank so much of it. I was drinking a case of coke in less then a week at one point. that's all i'd drink. how pathetic is that? 8O
I'll let you know how i feel after a week. it would be nice if i lost a few pounds in the process.

Re: H2O
In the summer, it's easy to drink lots of water. In the fall and winter I find it more difficult.
I like to drink Club Soda with llime. It's refreshing and not sweet. I can't drink pop. I find it too sweet and it makes me more thirsty.
You should try it Star. If it's not sweet enough for you, try adding a little sweetener at first, then reduce the amount over time.
As far as dehydration goes. Why is it , when you drink beer, your pee is pale? Alcohol makes you dehydrated, yet there's water in beer.
I'm sticking to the theory that BEER is as good as WATER. Lol

Re: H2O
LOL!! beer is made with water isn't it? i don't know. that's something i should research even though i've always hated beer. never did acquire a taste for it.
i don't like club soda. my mother drinks a lot of that too. club soda taste like that soda that you put in the fridge to keep your food fresh. i can't stomach it. gets my gag refrlex going.
I don't mind drinking water. now they have the fruit flavored waters you can buy. they're pretty tasty too. have you tried those? they're a little more expensive then water but they're soooo good.

I drink a ton of water. Probably about 8-9 bottles worth of water a day mon-fri.
My mom drinks about 10-11 big glasses of water a day. She went in for a medical or whatnot and the doc says she's got about another 50 years to live (she's 47) if she doesn't get cancer from smoking lol. But she's extremely healthy.

7-Up doesn't have caffene, it is just sweet. Plain water is the best however.
