Conquering Procrastination
Duke, thanks again for your wonderful article on the Home page. I plan to read every one of those articles and will try that meditation suggested and see how it works for me...

That is where it goes wrong:
You PLAN to read those articles, instead of reading them NOW.

Another baby step today:
Did my ironing and folding clothes immediately upon taking them out of the dryer! Most of the time the laundry stays in the basket until either the next day or the Saturday if the washing is done mid-week. YAY!

Procrastination is the grave where your dreams, aspirations, and hopes lie." Is that where you want you dreams to end up? Buried? Aborted?
If THAT statement doesn't help me with procrastination, NOTHING will...

Re:
I have no problems with being a procrastinator. There are many instances where procrastination actually serves me better than planning ahead.
I think it's important to actually define procrastination as well because I think there's two types of procrastination (these are not formal definitions):
1. Type A Procrastination: Leaving everything to the last minute, including planning.
2. Type B Procrastination: Leaving the actions only to the last minute but all planning is completed ahead of time.
Even though I'm sure there's no distinction between procrastination types, I believe myself to be a Type B Procrastinator. My mind always works out the details ahead of time so even though I'm acting on impulse, I'm acting on pre-planned impulse. I also work in the "uncontrollable elements" that may affect my last minute acts, giving myself a real-time window to complete the tasks at hand.

Actually there may well be different types, related to one's personality. I have not seen any research on the matter, though.

What about the procrastination type of walking past or ignoring something that has to be put away and pretending it isn't there?
