WASHINGTON - The research could give you whiplash: Aspirin prevents cancer, one study says. Oops, maybe not, says another. Now comes word that aspirin may fend off cancer only if people take much more than is used to fight heart disease, suggesting some of the earlier back-and-forth may have been due to confusion over the right dose.

My husband and I had a very dear, dear friend that passed away over twenty years ago from a heart attack. He was only forty-four years old and thin, so being overweight wasn't an issue at all. His name was Herman. Chokes me up just thinking about him even now...he was just the gentlest fellow and loved both our boys like they were his own....he had this amazing laugh "he he he" that is unforgettable! Anyway, the doctor said if he had taken some aspirins he wouldn't have died...which made his sudden death all the more harder to handle....
