Default Anger as motivation

Anger is my best motivator, i wish it wasnt, that i could push myself without anger, but so far it has pushed me to better on certain tests, i got my drivers liscence out of anger. I become an unstoppable athlete when im mad. But i dont think it should be my primary motivator.

anger shouldn't be your primary motivator for everything! Have you thought of perhaps taking an anger management course? that might help.

Have you thought that maybe it's all that pent up testosterone which has no outlet? ;-)

Just teasing, DA. :-)

Well...seems like you've been through an awful lot, and anger is a wonderful motivator.

I don't see anything wrong with that unless the emotion itself has taken over your life, and you're just angry at everything all the time.

Oh....when I'm all p*ssed off.....I can clean the crap out of my house! I'm the same way at work.

I don't think it should be the ONLY motivating force in a person's life....but if every now and then it boosts you to move along...then use it when you need to.

Yes, anger can motivate me. To humiliate the person who made me angry. Preferably with words, or something I am good at (chess, anyone?)

I rarely, if ever, get stressed and that also increases my performance level. But I suppose that is natural.

I drink if I get angry, fortunately I'm not angry all that often.

I stopped drinking because it only started to make things worse. I started seeing my demons everytime I looked in the mirror or acted foolishly due to intoxication.

I still drink now and then. I'd guess that I may drink the equivalent of a 6 pack per month but now it's no longer to get drunk and forget, it's just social. That was a very tough distinction for me to make and took over 17 years to figure out.

I did too for many years. I remember my friends always talking about how they "knew their limits". I had no idea what that was and still really have no concept of it either. Of course now I'm older and lack the desire to drink much anyway.

When I was in my early 20's partying it up with my friends, we'd get totally loaded. I don't think that anyone that young really knows "their limit". Nobody I hung out with did anyhow. If we went out drinking, our goal was to get loaded and have a good time.

Are we motivated by the emotion or what caused the anger? Anger is the result of something and I think that whatever caused you to be angry is what drives you.
