Back to the original poster: DA, I say whatever works for you. If getting mad helps you get a bigger GPA, get mad. As long as you don't start hitting people, everything's better than lazying off ! I have lots of faith in you!

Just so you know twinkle, I never took your post as a preach, just a re-affirmation of values that I very much agree with from a caring person.

yeah 86 out of a hundred. i thought i had somewhere around 94, an A as opposed to a B.

I depends soooo much on the system. In France teacher simply refuse to give high marks. One hint - at the Sorbonna, last year, out of 200 people, only one or two had the GPA of 14 (out of 20). - 2,80 GPA. That tells something.

Of course, other less famous university give higher marks much easier...

It depends a lot on how tough the exam was and on how the others performed - for instance here, some companies ask your rank in class, not just the grades!

yeah, my gpa is 3.1 out of 4, but i want it to be higher, i just dont work hard enough.

Like I said before, it's not just the GPA, it's a LOT of other things, like rank of your university, your collegues GPA, etc etc.

Don't worry, you'll do great next time.
