I would like to get Michael a present for Christmas, something that would be useful for him or his dad. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I'm horrible at pre-planning any kind of gift. I usually hit a mall with that person in mind and usually pick up a great gift for some odd reason. I'll mull it over and get back to you.
Is there anything that they actually need?

When I asked Dave about it a couple weeks ago he said he wasn't looking forward to Christmas anyway and Michael wouldn't know anything. I was hoping someone in this situation might be able to tell me what they got at one time that turned out to be useful for the family or the disabled person. I just want him to know I care and am thinking about him and Michael. I just didn't want to get something useless or stupid considering their situation. If you think of anything let me know. Thanks.

I think maybe company would help.
How about throwing a dinner for him and his son or something similar? Christmas is the most depressing time of year if your in an unhappy situation so it always helps to have someone special close to you.

Your very welcome.
I'll still keep your question in the back of my mind and see if I can come up with other ideas. It'll likely hit me when I'm trying to sleep or taking a p00p if history means anything.

Actually I'm not 100% sure where the idea for this site came from. I think it was a combination of all my life experiences that brought me here. The actual concrete conceptual stages of this site were rummaging around my mind for close to two years I believe.
I'm not 100% sure but I bounced this idea off of Pent a few years back, maybe he'll have a better idea.

I don't know. I'm horrible with gifts.
Perhaps you could hire him a caretaker or nurse or something for Michael for a day, so Dave could get away to relax and recharge. He must be very stressed and worried.
I don't know what that would cost, but it's an idea.

Stone and Weiser, thanks for the ideas. I especially like the lawyer one but he already has one of those. I will keep everyone's ideas in mind. Thanks for all the ideas. You people are great.
