Good news for women who love coffee...

According to an aricle in the "Province" newspaper..

..drinking coffee doesn't seem to cause long-term high blood pressure according to a study funded by the government. There was evidence that women who drank lots of coffee--four or more daily cups of regular or decaf--faced a slightly lower risk for developing high blood pressure than those who drank some or none.
Dr. Wolfgang Winkelmayer, the study's lead author/researcher says that may be because coffeee has lots of antioxidants, substances which are thought to help protect the heart and reduce cancer risk.
Heavy coffee consumption in men with a reduced risk of diabetes and may help prevent liver cancer.
The Doctor's group examined data on 155,594 mostly white female nurses, average age was 55, who took part in two long-running studies. They were questioned periodically about their health/diets over a period of 12 years.

well, guess that does no good for me because i don't drink coffee. never liked the taste of it so i never drank it. gerry on the other hand drinks a ton of it. always has his tim hortons in hand from morning until night.

We don't have a Tim Horton's where I live, but when I visit my Sons at the Coast, we stop there for a coffee..

If the article is true....then I should live a REALLY long life. I drink coffe from the time I wake up until I go to bed. Other people bring a 'to go' cup to work....I bring a huge thermos and get it filled back up during my lunch break. Like I've said before....I even drink coffee while I'm drinking beer.

ha ha ha...you sound like every single member of my family. they drink coffee all hours of the day and night year round. It'll be 100 degrees outside and they'll have a steaming cup of coffee in their hand!

I am NEVER without hot coffee. I don't even go shopping without my thermos in the car. 8)
