You're At A Party
hypothetical question
and having a great time. You see a shy person in a corner and no one is talking to him/her...what would you do?
(1) would you just leave him/her alone?
(2) would you go over and start talking and try to make him/her feel at ease?
(3) would you bring him/her over to your group?
(4) would you say anything if a member of the group you were in was making fun of the shy person?

Eh no. I tend to be that shy person. I am not too fond of parties.

Re: You're At A Party
Depends on if I know the person and what kind of party it is. If I know the person a little at least I would try to bring them into my conversation or at least talk to them. As far as picking on them, I would try to encourage my group to not do that.

Re: You're At A Party
If she's haut I'd be all over her.
I actually like to include as many people in a party as possible after all its a party. I'll do my best to get everyone involved but I won't work too hard at it if it's an uphill battle.
Some people are just killjoys so it's always best to identify them early and proceed in the fun giving them the opportunity to join in or stay out. You're at a party to party, if you don't want to party, go to the library.

Re: You're At A Party
I am not a kill joy though .
In general, once people start talking to me I am quite entertaining. However, not people are entertaining to me.

Re: You're At A Party
I would get you talking Vautrin. I think you would be a hoot at a party. But I am with Duke on the not trying too hard. Why come if you are going to pout in the corner!

Re: You're At A Party
I am not a people's person. Most people know this of me, so it is not a real problem.

Re: You're At A Party
Not everyone is the same when it comes to partying, I just tend to be very outgoing and I'm usually the center or close the the center of attention. I understand that most folks are comfortable at differing levels of involvement and I will party with them all, outgoing or not.
By killjoy I'm referring to the drooping lower lip standing off in a corner who's only purpose is to make those around them miserable while they lift the dirt from the rug.

Re: You're At A Party
What if it was a crucial first step for a shy person to be amongst happy, partying people? How about if we don't know exactly why the person did come?

Re: You're At A Party
It's a party, who cares why you came so long as you enjoy yourself and don't pee in the sink.

That would be kinda hard to do if you're a woman!

Same here. And the fact that I'm not talking to any one is prob what makes me feel at ease at that moment.
