If someone could do a forensic food test on your keyboard....what all would they find in/on it?

They would fine:
Blood
Snot
Gum
Pieces of chips
Bread
Miniscule parts of fries.
Kitty fur
Miniscule parts of my hair & nails
No need to continnue after that: this establishes that I robbed the local bank.

I guess I can sort of figure out how but why wouldn't you clean that up immediately?
Mine would have chips, cookies, crackers, probably my hair, just about any type of food that you could eat with your hands.

Work keyboard: foundation, eye shadow dust - we have to test the competitor product... that's all.
Home keyboard: Martini traces (I accidentally bursted out laughing and was drinking Martini - I've been working a looot to make it go away, but it's soo sticky, yukk), bread crumbles and dust.

Crumbs from virtually everything, skin, hair, dust, insects, ear wax, Keebler Elves, small pockets of Vietnamese Soldiers who don't know the war is over, and Jimi Hoffa's body.

After reading all THAT..... I feel much better. I think someone should come up with cheap disposable key boards. They are just too hard to clean.

I once had a cat who just loved walking on my keyboard when I was typing, LOL. Made me laugh remembering that.
My bf's dad wants a Siamese, can't wait for him to get one !!!

Our cat likes the keyboard too. I threw her out of MY room for getting fur everywhere. Chloe thought it was mean and took the car to her room. Then she had the same fur problem. SO...it ended up Jackson was stuck with her....he moved her out yesterday! LOL! She is now wondering around looking for a warm stereo or other household appliance she can perch her big butt on!

My cat loves the keyboard as well so I might as well teach her to type I only spilled a little coffee on mine
from ABSOLUTE BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO COMPUTER BASICS
check out these tips:
Keep your keyboard away from young children and pets--they can get dirt and hair and Silly Putty all over the place, and they have a tendency to put way too much pressure on the keys. (wish I had read this before my cat got on the keys)
Keep your keyboard away from dust, dirt, smoke, direct sunlight, and other harmful environmental stuff. You might even consider putting a dust cover on your keyboard when it's not in use. (Do you have a dust cover...I don't)
Use a small vacuum cleaner to periodically sweep the dirt from your keyboard. (Alternately, you can use compressed air to blow the dirt away.) Use a cotton swab or soft cloth to clean between the keys. If necessary, remove the keycaps to clean the switches underneath.
If you spill something on your keyboard, disconnect it immediately and wipe up the spill. Use a soft cloth to get between the keys; if necessary, use a screwdriver to pop off the keycaps and wipe up any seepage underneath. Let the keyboard dry thoroughly before trying to use it again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of you Computer Wizards know all this so I guess I basically posted it to myself

Ain't that true! We once found her on the TV set (we'd forgotten it on), swinging her tail in all direction. She seemed very pleased, LOL.
