Are you a Trekkie?

Apparently, this guy has taken being a Trekkie fan a bit too far.
Tony Alleyne boldly went where no other DIY enthusiast had gone before when he turned his studio apartment in Hinckley, Leicestershire, into a replica of the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.
The flat included a life-size model of the showââ¬â¢s transporter room. He even reshaped his windows to look like portholes and set up vertical lights so that he can pretend to be ââ¬Åbeamed upââ¬Â, but the nine-year mission failed and Mr Alleyne, 52, came crashing back to Earth with a bump. Yesterday, at Coventry County Court, he admitted that he has been declared bankrupt with debts of ã166,000.
Mr Alleyne spent more than ã30,000 turning his modest Midlands residence into a Star Trek set, and another ã100,000 marketing his firm, 24th Cen-tury Interior Designs, which offered to do the same for other people. Astonishingly, there were not that many takers.
All that being said...it's still very unique and cool. I'm surprised he had no buyers!! What does everyone else thinK???

It was pretty unique and cool. But really, the guy needs to get a life or a girlfriend. Can you imagine? His girlfriend would have put an end to all that nonsense... "You want to spend $52,159.13 on what?" :ouch:

The 13 cents would have floored me. But there is a positive: at least that prevents him drinking 26,079.565 beers (assuming the cost of a beer in a bar is about $2), during his life time. Over the course of 20 year marriage, that would be more than 3 beers a day the husband would be drinking.

HAHA! I think the article DID say his wife left him.
As for me...I'm not enough of a Star Trek fan to want to LIVE on the Enterprise forever...but I think it's still pretty darn cool!!! I like it better than MY place.

I'm not or have ever been a "Star Trek" fan because when it first came out there were no hot guys there!

After decennia of the show being aired, however, Luba seems to differ in opinion (on the hot guys :P). Age-dependent?

Thru the years, I thought both male captains were very attractive as men. William Shatner is older NOW....but he was young once.

That's what I meant. Everytime I goof with something like that, even a personal picture, it slows my puter down.
