Default Are you a "flier" shopper?

Do you peruse the fliers before shopping for groceries, best deals for Home Entertainment, etc. or do you just go out and buy as your needs dictate?

My husband is a flier shopper for groceries, and will browse through other fliers, only getting something if he really needs it. I, however, am not a shopper at all, (I've mentioned already many times how cheap/frugal I am ) so I just buy what I need, very pleasantly surprised if it's on sale!

I know of people who go through every single grocery flier and drive to each store just for the specials!

To each their own, I guess!

I know some too and can never understand doing that because for the amount of money you're spending on gas to get to all these different stores, it all evens out at the end of it all. :?

I don't flyer shop. i do however look for the specials while i'm at the store and if it;s on sale well great but if it isn't and i need it, i buy it anyways. I shop at the same grocery store every time anyhow.

Star, the situation you are describing is partly due to a psychological need - not to pay too much for whatever article. To some people it is an actual sport.

Of course, if you take in account the gas, and the added time spent on doing it in that fashion, you will see that the revenue per hour will be very low, if not negative.

We have two grocery stores who send out fliers which are in close proximity to each other. When I make out my weekly menu, I DO take into consideration what is on sale in both of the fliers. If they have a great buy one/get one Free......I can't avoid it....especially on staple type items or meat. I don't stop or drive across town for a sale though.

I probably wouldn't bother if I were just feeding myself...but with 2 teens and their friends hanging out here.....I can't afford it any other way.

I wouldn't go out and purchase a furniture or electronic item just because it was on sale. I don't have that kind of cash. When it comes time to buy something....I usually check KMart or WalMart first.

We have Junk Mail Wed.....which is when all the flyers from the grocery stores and fast food coupons come in the mail. It's usually the only day though.
