BTW, for those interested, here's the e-mail that started this series of events, and of course, my rebuttle.
Site Speed
Although your web hosting account caused its initial host to overload and forced us to move to a new server, it currently has no problems and the website is showing up fine. However if it overloads this new virtual hosting server again, you will have to upgrade your plan to a
VPS.
My reply
Hell with that, I'll just get a new webhost. I'd be nuts to upgrade to a
dedicated server given all the problems I've had on your Silver Plan with
it's "Reliable 99.9 % uptime", whatever. I can't even get my main page up on
Lifesupporters right now without getting gateway timeout errors and I know
I'm not the only one having these problems.
I also staff at roughly 6 other sites that range from the Eastern States to
the UK, play online and know my pings to servers all over the world plus
surf the net daily and there's no sites I've seen that perform as
consistantly bad as mine do. I've been trying for the past 5 minutes to open
my goddam site and can't, problem solved?
I don't enjoy spamming your customer support but what choice do I have, the
performance sux?
I've had enough of this back and forth anyway and will likely transfer to a
new webhost in a few weeks.
BTW, try loading the site now and maybe do so several times a day and you'll
see a much different story than the few times you guys poke around my site
when I bitch to you about it. I am not running game servers, heavy dowloads,
or requiring tons of bandwidth so there's no need for a dedicated server.
