Default YEAH! Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince!

I'm so excited- I loooove Harry!

Anyone who has read the books will notice that each story seems to get more violent and deal w/more death. That is why I added the poll to this thread but feel free to simply celebrate the release of book 6.

I voted 7 - 10 because it's not just the death, the overall mood of the stories can be quite dark at times as well and may be a bit much for a younger audience.

My son isn't aloud to watch anyting other than G movies but he's just a Toddler, I also think 7-10 would be more age approiprate... Jezze I really wish I could get in to Harry Potter I just can't me and my b/f have tried several times I guess it's just not our thing.

I didn't pick an age since I think what books a child/teen/adult reads is based on how well they can read and what subject matters interest them. My daughter and her friends have counted the days the next Harry Potter books were coming out... being much more excite about them than the movie versions.

The series may very well have gotten more violent and 'adult' in nature due to the characters getting older. I've never read any of the books and have only seen the first movie.

I don't know, I think it's important that kids read and if Harry Potter makes them do so then so be it.... I'm sure it's not that bad.

The books are not written that well, but the story is really good, and the books are long and make kids read. I have read all the harry potter books and will read them all again in the two days before the release of 6... reading the first 5 in one sitting was hard, i did it, but i will take an extra day this time.

She's turning 10 at the end of May and already knows way more than I do. I'm hoping by standing near to her, I'll pick up valuable IQ points through osmosis.

I voted 7 to 10 because the books are way to hard for any child under that age to read.

I LOVE Harry Potter! I think the stories are wonderful and teach a lot of good things to kids. friendship, helping people, honesty, dealing with concequences, etc...

I've seen all 3 movies out and looking forward to the next one.

Now i usually read Crime scene solving death kind of books but on a desperate plea to the fiance to pick me up a book when he was at the store and him grabbing cheesy romance novels and reading the title or synopsis he finally picked up the 3rd book and I've been hooked ever since... Should have done it when Faye told me to do it orginally she usually doesnt steer me wrong when it comes to books...

I'm overly excited about the new harry potter book and i think other authors like Patricia Cornwell and Michael Connely need to hurry up and give me more books in the series I hate trying to find new authors

I read books NO ONE ELSE would find remotely interesting. I've been slack this past year though. I still continue to buy them though to add to our collection. We have tons of books and hope to have a library in our next house.

I've got boxes upon boxes of all different books in the basement. I have nowhere to put them! I used to have a library for them but this house is so much smaller then what i'm used to...no room for them. I haven't read a book in over a year! sad huh?

Why don't you pick one area....even in a hall or something and put up shallow shelving all the way up to the ceiling? Even if you use a lighter cheaper wood....you can anchor it into the wall to sufficiently hold up the books. It doesn't take a lot of shelving to hold a pile of books.

problem is i have no walls left! LOL! this is a nice little house and i mean little. it's a 3 bedroom but the 3rd bedroom (which is now erika's room) is like a walk in closet. We have BIG furniture (because we had a BIG house) so the wall space is next to none. I can however get hubby to build shelves in kassandra's room. the books for her age group can go there at least. I have tons of children's books too. My kids never needed to go to a library. I'll figure something out i'm sure. i hate those books being packed away like that. i have some good books that i bought and never got read yet!

We went thru that when we moved here. Now we've been here long enough to have replaced all the bigger pieces into something more manageable....but it's still hard when you don't have a lot of room. It's also harder to keep tidy. My kitchen table .....ARRGG!

The kids swapped bedroom last year since Chloe wanted to do her 'tent thing' and it gave Jackson a chance to have the bigger bedroom. They are still crowded up though. They use their hall bathroom for everything but bathing since the tub area is our Christmas storage area behind the shower curtain. LOL!

Luckily, I had great shelving units which we have in the living room on both sides of the TV. If it wasn't for that....I'd be in your same position.
