for baby boys and pink for baby girls? Just take a guess BEFORE looking it up...unless you already know...

Blue is the color of freedom, and therewith of thought. Red (the color "pink" supposedly is quite close to red) is the color of passion.

That is of course, assuming that the whole idea originated somewhere in the 15th to 18th century in Europe.
