Not going to share my "middle name", but I was named after both my grandfathers. That is a tradition in a lot of families here. My first name, comes from my paternal grandfather, my second name comes from my maternal grandfather. As simple as that.
Barbara - after the Saint of Artillery
Felicitas - after a saint who stood up for her Christian beliefs
Kind of interesting since they are the two things I'm the most passionate about.

O'Neil - all males in the family are supposed to have middle names
starting with an O. So, I found one.
mine is marie-rose. our religious tradition (in quebec), a baby boy would have joseph as one of their middle names and a girl would have marie then the other name would be that of our god-mother (for a girl) or god-father (for a boy). My grandmother was my godmother. her name was rosilda. my mother didn't like that name too much so she shortened it to rose (which i'm very happy for).
I wish my first name was rose instead of my middle name. I like it better.

My name is Dian Petronela. Horrid, if you ask me . Petronela if the feminin of Petru, which is my dad's name.
Apparently mom said she chose this name because there was no saint Diana, but there was a saint Peter (Petru in Romanian), so she wanted me to have a name anniversary - incidentaly, the same as my fathers'.
My sis wears the same middle name as my mom, and they both celebrate it - saint Mary!
My parents are the least Christian people I ever met, lol , go figure :roll: !!!
Marie - don't know for sure why but I am Catholic so I am sure that had something to do with it. My first name came from a good friend of my mother's. I like your tradition Star. That is nice.

I think it's nice too but unfortunately, I kind of broke the tradition with my kids. i didn't give them the "marie" name, just gave them their godmother's names for middle names. my daughter took it a step further and didn't even choosse those names. the middle names of her kids are sentimentally meaningless.
