Vauxhall is the English name for Opel. It is only used in England, as far as I know.

Opel a German automaker that GM owns. They do a whole lot of their own engineering, and right now some of their cars are being sold in America with American tags on them.

Peugeot and Renault are the big French automakers. They haven't sold anything in America for a while though.

Didn't they used to sell Opels in the USA? I thought they were called Opals though. They had a wierd shape with lots of glass. They were really ugly.

Back in the sixties or seventies, and they managed to ruin their name in America. They could probably seel Opels under that name here again, but there is no real point, they can just rebadge them. In fact, the Saturn L-series, and the Malibu are pretty much Opels.

Opal is a mineral.
