Heights; otherwise I try not to think of frightening things, just living in the moment as much as I can. If something unexpected does frighten me I try to step back and concentrate on my breath and slowing it down. The mind can take a person places where it's not good to go or worry about things that may happen...

What scares me the most is the thought of something bad happening to my daughter; everything else is a distant second.

My instant reaction to this question is 'everything'.
Specifically: losing ppl I love, hurting ppl I love, hurting, failure, disappointment and rejection. Crossing the road... totally freaks me out! Ants (imagine what they could do if only they knew their potential).

I'm afraid of going hungry. I come from a poor family and as such, we often didn't have enough. In my adult life, I keep the house stocked to the brim with extra groceries in the closets and the upright freezer. Going hungry has been a lifelong fear for me.

I'm definately scared for the people that I love to die. My wife, my son, my parents... Just the thought of it happening makes my cry time after time again for so many times already. Perhaps it's a good thing because I think I've already partly mourned their death by now, even though it hasn't happened yet. With my parents getting older I have been thinking quite a few times about what I'd do / feel if they'd died.
Strangely enough it made me consider not to attend their funeral when they die, like that's too much to ask for....weird eh? I can't think of a valid reason / excuse to not attend, but the idea keeps entering my mind, like some sort of automated self protection system.... oh well

Next to that I'm scared of heights. I never used to be scared of heights, but falling off a roof twice when I was still working in construction changed that. Still a bit of fear for heights doesn't strike me as an unhealthy habbit

Losing my kids is the scariest. Next is bridges. I hate to drive over bridges. I am afraid of going over the rail into the water. Which then follows the drowning part. There is a height issue in there too!!!

Funny you should mention this because my daughter has the same kind of issue, if you can call it that. She just hates driving over bridges for some reason, I have no idea why because afaik, her mom doesn't mind and I actually kinda like it.

Human stupidity. That is really frightening!

The personal stuff is of course scary, but if something bad happens, it is out of my control. As a consequence I do not give much thought to these things.

No real phobias for me to speak of.

I like driving over bridges but I hate being stuck in traffic over bridges, the same can be said for overpasses. You can feel the raised platform flex and bounce with the weight of the traffic moving over it.

I don't like overpasses either but they need to flex and move otherwise they would definitely fall. Same with tall buildings, they are designed to move and sway or they would snap off.

I'm not a big fan of snakes or spiders either. If their not venemous then I can tolerate them but aside from that, I'd rather keep my distance when possible.

Oddly enough though, I do like Iguanas.

Horror movies, loved "The Shining" with Jack Nicholson, though.

I don't mind snakes, lizards, or rodents. It's the spiders that give me the heebee geebee's. *shiver*

I've recently come to realize that one of the things that scares me as much as something bad happening to my child is having my child think badly of me.

I can honestly say that this thought alone is enough to bring me to tears of worry.
