I guess General American is considered 'proper' English...which is probably why you guys got that one. Yankee being the next closest to proper.
I should post the questions....it would be interesting to see where the differences are.

If General American is like NBC english it is based on a slice of america running from western NY through pennsylvania, through norther ohio and into south eastern michigan. In other words I have no accent.
