My big weekend plans are going to walmart to get formula, diapers and kassandra's birthday presents then doing groceries. I'm such a party animal aren't I?

The kids and I had 2 hour cleaning thing going on where we did a few things we usually avoid. (I was posting in between). Tonight, I'm going to Alakali's to play cards and drink a few beers. That's about it.

SH....I don't know why mother-in-laws and daughter-in-laws seem to get on each other's nerves...but they do. You don't have to be big buddies with her...but at least try to get along. It's easier for everyone concerned.

My problem with her is that her friggin son cries to her about all of our problems, and she takes his side. It's his fault for even talking about our problems with her. But I don't appreicate her need to question me about our personal problems I don't think it is any of her business, and I KNOW she won't side with me so it is pointless. Other than that she is a nice lady...... When she is sober.

i am sure well get into it again tonight.

you have to get along and be civil for the kids. The kids love their grammas and grandpas. I learned that the hard way.

I few years back, i stopped talking to everyone on hubby's side of the family. I had good reason and they did deserve it but i regret doing that. my kids are the ones who suffered. they missed the family get together (which kids love) and didn't see them as much as they wanted to.

Now that things are back to normal again (somewhat...i forgave them but fully not trusting them - except my mother in law..trust her to the fullest now) the kids are much happier.

Kids need their grandparents as much as they need their parents.

I would nicely tell her that i won't discuss my relationship problems with her and put an end to that real fast. If you don't tell her, she'll never stop. but tell her nicely though.

That's probably what MY daughter-in-law says! LMAO! As it turns out....my son always brings a 6 pak when he comes to visit. It's what we do.... SO, everytime she has ever been around me....I had a beer in my hand. HAHA!

I agree with Star. It's best to eat you feelings and let the kids have a good relationship with their grandparents. Other than you, no one will ever love them more.

In character and personality.... I'm VERY much like my daughter-in-law. If she wasn't such a Democrat liberal (and yes, she's as politically active as I am).....we would probably be best friends. As it is....my son calls us Hannity and Colmes. We have went round and round on more than ONE occasion.

Does your son wine about his relationship problems? If he did would you confront her?

This lady chews my ass every time I see her.

No...he NEVER has! He may make a joke about some of his newly acquired 'house chores'....but he has never complained to me or shared with me any of the problems they may haveand they've been together for two years now. Then again, he never told me anything about any problems with past girlfriends either.

If he did....I certainly wouldn't mention it to her or get into their personal business. Quite frankly, he probably doesn't tell me stuff because he knows I don't care. I really have no interest in what they may be squabbling about.

I will never be that kind of mother in law. If my girls do happen to talk to me about things, i would never hold that against my son in law nor would i let him know that i do know. none of my business.

my mother in law doesn't get into our business either. about the only thing she's ever said was to hubby. that was for him to stop saying "my mom does it that was". she gave him crap for saying that to me. so that was okay.

You can't get into your kids marital affairs (unless it's abuse, then i would). that right there will cause a riff between you and your son/daughter in law. guaranteed to happen everytime.

I'm thinking that before a Mom should fault the person their child is married to....they should remember what their child was like as a teen. When Isis gets married....I'm sending her hubby a funeral card with 'My Sympathy' written on it. HAHAHA!

Isis...if you read this you KNOW it's true and that I REALLY will!
