Valentine's Day...
How or do you celebrate Valentine's day?
What is the best gift you have been given for this special day?
Share your most romantic story...

Um lucky for me I haven't had to dump any money into V-day for a good 4 years *thumbs up*
My friend though is spending $1,000 on his gf...Limo, fancy restaurant, 4 hour spa trip...I think he's nuts, but hey, to each their own.

the best valentine's gift that i ever got was from my hubby. He bought me my engagement ring and other little things that year. I was so surprised and happy!
I had lost my original ring so he just went out and replaced it with a much nicer bigger diamond. I should lose my ring more often huh? LOL!
we don't do much on valentines day. i usually bake a heart cake and buy the kids a little something.
you know, i don't have much romance in my life anymore and you know, i really don't miss it. odd isn't it?

Never had any reason to celebrate V-Day. And this year, the distance between me and my gf is approximately 5,600 miles. It takes more than half a day to just see each other.
Luckily I should find the time somewhere to give her a great gift :hearts:.

You can send a card and a little personal gift....with a promise of the big gift when you see each other again.
Big gift = use imagination.........

Do you know the song "The Gift" by the velvet Underground?
It is actually a short story about a man who has been separated from his love (distance), and he decides to travel back to her. Since he can't afford much, he sends himself through airmail. In a wooden box.
The girl cannot open the box normally, and when she does (with a lot of effort) she also hits / destroys his head, and he subsequently dies).
Very dark humoured song.
So no big gifts from me

Well..I made a post here and lost it.
I wonder why someone hasn't made that story into a movie or something?

Probably because it is already a hybrid between a short-story and a song.

I once bought a nice Valentines Day Ice Cream Cake, put it in the freezer and made a path to the freezer from the front door in rose pedals.

That was probably:
After you had put the freezer outside, used the pedals of wilted roses, and it was June 10th.
