I am not decided on the issue. Sometimes, when I am in a rush, it is toilet seat up. If there is no rush, it is toilet seat down. I make exceptions for public restrooms though...

I actually sit down now to pee simply because having a child means that they sometimes get sick to the point of vomiting. I'd hate to have my child leaning over a toilet with urine spray everywhere. I also don't leave the seat up because it is rude IMHO.
I don't think my husband or son has ever left the seat up. My husband sits down unless he is in a hurry and even then he seems to be a pretty good shot. It hasn't been an issue in my house yet.
