Interesting discussion with my husband this morning that also led to some memories of my childhood. A little 'situation' happened this morning to my husband and he said "it's going to be a bad day". I asked him why he thought that since he was letting this 'event' colour his whole day, and my memory brought me back to my childhood when my Mother used to think that way, too.
I don't let myself think that way anymore and believe me, it took me a l-o-n-g time to get there by fixing that type of thinking. Why let an 'off' mood in the morning, or a little situation be blown out of proportion and colour the entire day? What a waste of that type of thinking I found. I realized how many hours or even entire days of my life I wasted by that type of thinking.
Do you let any type of morning situation spoil your day? Do you believe that if you wake up feeling 'off' that is how your day is going to go? Are you able to not give your power of thinking to the situation and dismiss it quickly and move on to a good mood? Do you find that a situation at home may colour how you react to people at home or at work as in being more vulnerable and defensive?

I saw a guest reading this and see if there will be a response or two.

Not necessarily a situation, but sometimes you have simply the feeling 'it is not going to be my day'.
Once in a while is okay. If it becomes a common occurrence, however it would be time to do something about it. Might be that you simply dread going into work for example, and that is a serious problem, that needs some serious attention.

Maybe it's because early, early mornings are the best time for me that if I wake up what I like to call just "Off", then I will do everything possible to talk myself out of that. I simply do not want to ruin the day!
Sometimes when I remember bad dreams, that will put me 'off', but then I just try that much harder and honestly, before long, I'm either smiling to myself or actually laughing. Having positive affirmations helps, too!

I am quite demanding of myself, so I don't mind the occasional bad day. Just gives me a chance to relax without feeling too bad about it, if that makes sense?

That does make sense to me. Whatever works for each person.
