TFF.....BATS
The reason I was offline a bit for the last 30 mins...is that Cracker (the wonder dog) and I was trying to shew out a little bat who had flown in. LMAO! I tried to scoop it up with an umbrella....but it still couldn't seem to find the front door. I have my bedroom door closed now though and the front door open. The dog is having a friggin hey day.....haha!

I don't know what to do. Both kids are gone and I don't want to go to sleep with a damn BAT in my house. AARRGG!
I think it's a baby though...the wing span looks to be about 4".

If a bat ends up in your living quarters there is no need to panic! First you should seal off the room so the bat can't get anywhere else in your house. Next, open a window or door that leads to the outside. If you have lights on turn them off so the bat will only echolocate to find the opening. The bat should be gone in a few minutes once this is done. Sometimes, the bat will appear to hit the wall and fall to the floor.
Guess I'll have to wait for this one to happen. The stupid SOB won't fly out the front door which I left open. It's too hot and humid for me to leave it open too long. The dog has settled down....looks like it's closed it's wings under an AC vent. How freaky is that????? Glad the kids aren't home. They would NEVER sleep with something like that in the house.

Well...I live in Florida where bugs and creepy crawlers are a given.... but this is my first bat encounter. I'm thinking it's because we just got thru the cricket migration which makes PILES of noise in the trees. It'll actually hurt your ears to go outside at night during that couple of weeks. They eat the bugs off of your shrubs though....so it's a good thing.
But between that last week and the hurricane weather....this poor baby bat is just lost.

H*ll.....I could use an FUGLY man about now....but all I have is that creepy a$$ed bat in the living room. I read the web page and turned off all lights and opened the front door. Hopefully, it'll find it's way OUT before too long. The dog is exhausted from chasing it around in circles.
Ihate closing my bedroom door with the front door open.
Then again.....maybe I'll score a pervert. LMAO!

If you left the door open and there was someone about, is your dog a good protector, you do have close neighbours around, I hope!

I don't physically worry about the front door open.....but unlike where you live....we are still having storms from the new hurricane which just hit in the gulf....and the humidity is butt kicking. Leaving ANY window or door open in Florida is a high expense utility wise.

Since you asked Luba....I thought I'd tell everyone that your advice worked. It seemed to find it's way out in about 30 minutes. I was telling the kids about it the next day and they thought it was hilarious!
We usually don't have bats around the beaches area. Maybe they got blown in from all the storms.
I'm glad I was on beer 5 though............... or I would've been screaming instead of posting through it.
