Summer
They opened the pool here last weekend. It was too cold to swim and will be too cold this weekend (we are having record lows...how odd!). Anyway, even though we are within walking distance to the beach.....the kids go swiming at the pool almost everyday. I LOVE it....keeps them, and their friends, out of my house! LOL! I, on the other hand, never use the local pool and rarely go to the beach either.
How many times a year does everyone else go swimming?

We go to the beach in Jordan or an another one we know in mississauga a lot during the summer. I don't go swimming but the kids and gerry does. I know how to swim, I just don't like the shock of the cold water until you get used to it so i don't go in.

I used to swim every day when I lived in Jamaica. I did diving and long distance swimming. Now I take the kids swimming about once a month. I should go more, they love it. I don't like indoor pools and it's too cold to swim outdoors here.

How about a small kid pool in the back yard? My kids used to love them when they were young. They aren't very expensive either....just a little bit of a pain to keep clean.

Chloe and I saw something similar in the stores and were remarking how, when you lean them up, they look like a great big butt!

I live about 2 miles away from lake st. claire, but I don't swim in it. No real beaches near me, and it is a bit of a mud hole with a nice channel dug in it. My city has a municipal park with some pools and it is on the lake front, but my city isn't actually on the lake so it is a few miles away. I haven't gone there to swim for a few years.

I know what you mean. The beaches that we go to we're allowed to BBQ so the packing up to get there is a pain but once we're there, I relax.

I never really understood going to the beach unless you intend to swim. We have beaches here where all you do is lay there and tan, wtf, how boring is that?
