are the people of the world self-destructing? Every time I listen to the News there is more and more violence; people that used to have fistfights now use guns and knives...what's up with that?

The world is going to hell in a hand basket. People suck! I am not all that religious but I do believe in God. Too much of God has been taken out of the places it needs to be.

This is because we as a society coddle these losers and help them to believe their not directly responsible for their actions. I find it sickening that nutcases have any rights in the first place, what about the rights of the victim?

By my way of thinking, if you violate someone else's rights, your rights should be revoked, end of story.

The whole theory behind all the ideas, and principles has been corroded by practice. What basic civil liberties are these days, is barely a shadow of what they were at the founding of Canada or the US, or the creation of the 18th and 19th century European countries.

In fact the former Dutch minister of Justice (/ law) made a remark, and not one politician bothered to even understand that he explained (albeit with a strange example, the workings of the Constitution.

I guess it really depends on what each person perceives as the major problem. I truly think, if or if not a person believes in religion, that man is really not capable of governing himself. They can hide it in money and entertainment or talent, but in the end it seems much of mankind is just kind of floundering around without much end result direction. Everyone has to believe in something. Depending on government to regulate your life is a misnomer. That's called communism.

We have a society that is hell bent on believing in their own education or way of thinking....and in the end .... there isn't enough harmony in that to make it work. So yes, I think in the end mankind needs a God. So, it's not only a matter of believing, it's also a matter of realizing people need a moral compass.
