Don't do it, smoking doesn't make you fit in at all. The only thing your going to fit into is an oxygen tent later in life because you screwed up your lungs due to ingesting poison over the years.

Well if you think smelling like a cigrarette butt is going to increase your chances of hooking up with a gal or make you the life of the party then go for it.

I'm sorry that turning 21 isn't all you expected but you just turned 21 not long ago. I guess I'm wondering what you were expecting when you reached 21 in the first place. You're still the same person you were before you reached 21 and will likely remain that person deep down throughout the rest of your life. I think you put way too much pressure on yourself da and I don't think it's all that healthy.

I know what you mean, DA. I have recently bought a pack of cigs... my classmates smoke and it's a way to make some small talk with them.

Of course, I realised that I could easily make a cup of coffee go out and talk to them.

I usually smoke when I'm depressed and I know it's a **** stupid habit. I mean I didn't resist tempation all this years to act this stupid when I'm 24. Plus, I've started my new bc pills and smoking can trigger some nasty side effects.

IF you want to socialise more, DA, it's you, it's inside you need to look more. Maybe it's a bit more courage you need, maybe it's a bit more confidence. Smoking won't replace any of these, but will give you death...

Edited by Duke for language.

DA, why would you think that starting smoking will increase your happiness socially? Smoking has nothing to do with being depressed or not. It doesn't cure depression. really, it doesn't.

You've just turned 21. You're still very young and you have your whole life ahead of you still. You haven't nearly begun to live it to it's fullest and won't until you're well into your 30's. Don't rush things, you will live to regret it if you do.

You have lots of friends around you that you spend time with on a regular basis, you're getting a very good education, you have a great family. You've got a lot for a guy that's only 21 years old!

You need to let live. Things will all fall into place when it's time for those things to fall into place. You can't rush destiny, really you can't. You need to accept that you do have a good life right now and you do have an awesome future. Be patient and everything will fall into place as it should.

It's too expensive of a habit DA. You can almost buy a six-pack for what a pack of cigs cost these days. If you never start....you'll never have to go through trying to quit.

You are right...turning 21 doesn't make you feel magical or anything. It's just another year.

DA...have you got an extra $100 a month or more? Would you like everything you own smelling like cigarettes? How would you like to clean ashes and brown film every time you turn around?

I've smoked for 40 Years but haven't had one in a month...I'm going nuts and want to kick the crap out of something...its HELL.

Don't do it!

With all of the information of cigarettes thats public these days I'm amazed that anyone even considers picking up the habit. Many people who smoke actually consider it a nast habit as well.

You are just jealous cause you had to quit and I'm still smoking around you! HAHA!

Seriously....DA listen to Alkali. Having to give them up due to health reasons is tough.....especially if you smokes many years. It's just not worth going there.

Hopefully this has been enough to sway your decision to start smoking da, it's not worth it. Spend the money you'd save on a new wardrobe or a car.
