Salmon Flavored Soda?? EWWW....
I didn't see any of this on OUR shelves in Florida....but maybe Adonai heard about it or tried it. What do you guys think? I think = 8O I can't believe anyone would even drink the turkey/gravy flavor which went over so well last year.
-------------------------------------
Seattle beverage maker continues wacky holiday-season flavor trend
Jones Soda Co.
ââ¬ÅWhen you smell it, itââ¬â¢s got that smoked salmon aroma,ââ¬Â says Jones Soda CEO Peter van Stolk of his company's newest flavor.
SEATTLE - For beverage connoisseurs tired of turkey-and-gravy or green-beans-and-casserole flavored sodas, thereââ¬â¢s a new choice being offered this year by specialty U.S. soda maker Jones Soda Co.: salmon.
Jones Soda, the Seattle company that scored a hit during the last two holiday seasons with its turkey and gravy-flavored sodas, said it is offering the orange-hued fish-flavored drink this year in a nod to the Pacific Northwestââ¬â¢s salmon catch.
ââ¬ÅWhen you smell it, itââ¬â¢s got that smoked salmon aroma,ââ¬Â said Peter van Stolk, chief executive of Jones Soda.
The artificially flavored salmon soda will be offered as part of a $13 ââ¬Åregional holiday packââ¬Â that also includes other unusual sodas such as turkey & gravy, corn on the cob, broccoli casserole and pecan pie.
While those five bottles will be offered locally, Jones Soda is also selling its similarly-priced ââ¬Åholiday packââ¬Â of turkey and gravy, wild herb stuffing, brussels sprout, cranberry and pumpkin pie sodas across the country.
Van Stolk, who built his Seattle-based soda company by selling traditional sodas as well as exotic flavors such as green apple, bubblegum and crushed melon, said that ââ¬Åthe most important thing (about Jones Soda) is that we can laugh at ourselves.ââ¬Â
Asked whether he liked his new salmon soda, van Stolk said: ââ¬ÅI cannot finish a bottle, I just canââ¬â¢t.ââ¬Â

That's what everybody said about suchi ice cream and it still sells like crazy. I am rather reluctant to new flavours, but I think I'd try it first before rejecting it.

I once tried tomatoe sorbet (a sort of icecream) with warm escargos salad... really gourmet :hearts:
To my defense, I do admit that I needed 2 years of living in France prior to eating escargos.

Only certain species of snails are eatable (those of Burgundia are quite well known). The taste is very good, it all depends on the size of it and on the way you'd rather have it cooked - cold or warm.
I don't know if you've got Picard - it's a chain of frozen food. They have escargos and all you need to do is put them in the oven (other then buying them, of course). There's a percil sauce with a bit of garlic inside, and they're very tasty.
It's unlike any meat you've tried - the texture is more rigid, almost crispy like. But like I said, it all depends on the type of escargot you're having.
You eat them with a special, thin, 2 teeth fork, it's rather funny - if you go to a restaurant, the job may already be done for you.

You know I would probably try escargot. I never thought I would try sushi - it's raw fish. But I acquired a taste living down in arizona. It's sooooo good. So, I'll probably try escargot if I get the chance.
As for salmon...I can't even eat salmon because it's so repulsive, I would probably puke if I tried to drink it.
