Running on fumes...........
How much is a gallon a gas in your neck of the woods? Do you feel like you have to get a second job or mortgage your home to fill your tank?

Regular gas runs on average $2.80 per gallon here, at least this week. We bought an economical car in September but we have three vehicles in use all the time so our gasoline bill is pretty high anyway. I just wish they would make up their minds and settle on a price. I hate the hourly price changes.

ours isn't by the gallon, it's by the litre. we're now paying 95 to 96 cents a litre which is absolutely retarded since we're self-sufficient here in canada. do you know that we buy OUR gas that we sold to the states back from the states??? how stupid is that?

In the Netherlands, think close to $6.00 / gallon.

3.99 a gallon here if you work it out right.
$1.049 x 3.8
Pricey. Or you could go over the border and fill up for a measily $2.70

I don't even bother to see how much it is over here. Around three times more expensive than in the US. I know that my bf spends around 400 euros per months on gas.
I don't even have a car and frankly, I don't need one (yeah, my bf does so... I'm kinda taking advantage of it  )

Re:
It just went up again here, so it's now $2.69 a gallon. I'm working overtime to pay for the extra expense of gas.

I don't think the US dollar crashed recently.
1 Euro will be $1.30. so the gas expenses would be $520 a month.

Yup, he doesn't live in Paris so he makes a lot of time to get to his work. Add the fact that I live at the opposite corner + the outings, and there you have it.
The good thing is that his company pays for half of his gas expenses .

It looks like this thread began six days ago. I drive about a hundred miles round-trip to and from my office. Gas seems to have gone down a few cents since this thread was started. I just paid $3.19 a couple days ago. The worst I ever paid was $3.40. (This is CA, btw.) Is it going down for everyone else, too? Will it ever get below $3 again? I remember telling people that $3 gas would change my lifestyle, but it hasn't. Would $4 gas change the way you drive?

I don't drive, but as you may have read above I live in the Netherlands. Our gas prices are about 1 Euro 40 cents per litre= $1.82 per litre, which is close to $7 the gallon. Even with tax compensation, you are still paying a lot.
I doubt higher prices would change driving styles substantially. As much as we hate it, just because is expensive, it does not mean that we don't have to go to work, the dentist, an occasional visit of friends etc.

In Florida, when I left to go to China Lake at the end of April, the gas prices here were around $3.19 and when I got back near the end of May they were down to $2.66. They have since gone back up and today they were $2.78 where I filled up. The gasoline companies are making money hand over fist over here and they still gouge us. I hate it.

Re:
I think they pattern themselves much the same as the tobacco companies do. At the end of the day, they don't care if they are killing people, justso long as the profit margins are still there.
