O.K. I don't know if he is pulling my leg, I had lunch with an Accountant in my office and he told me that in Europe you get a lunch time and a nap time on your work day.
Is this true? I could really use a nap right now LOL
Probably depends on the country and the company. I know some of the countries have high rates of calling in sick and what not. Also average workers in most european countries take way more vacation time then americans.
You are right....we are getting RIPPED OFF! I want to work in Norway: Norway
Normal work hours are limited by law to 37.5 hours per week, usually running Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Norwegian law also provides for 25 paid vacation days per year and a legally mandated 28-hour rest period on holidays and weekends. Employees have a right to sick leave and women are entitled to maternity leave with full pay for up to 42 weeks, or 52 weeks at 78 percent of her pay.
I get 3 weeks vacation (after 5 years) but in Germany, they start at 4 weeks, plus get 15 paid holidays. The very best part is, they get to drink beer during lunch...it's considered a right.
